Over Head Canopy Doors
 These doors generally have the lifting springs above the door. A cable lifts the door and when open approximately a third of the door protrudes from the garage to form a canopy. These doors are not generally recommended for automation.

Retractable Over Head Doors
 Springs are down the side as shown the picture. These doors kick out more when opening and have tracks running horizontal into the garage. These doors are suitable for automation.

Sectional Doors
 The spring on these doors can be mounted at the side or above.. They lift vertically and break into three or more sections as it rises. These doors are suitable for automation.
